  17. Get 1 stick butter
  18. Prepare 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  19. Prepare 2 cup water
  20. Make ready 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions to make My Mom's Roast Beef:
  1. Preheat oven 300 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Wash the beef and Vegetables
  3. Add beef to the roaster
  4. Cut the potatoes, leave the peeling on potatoes and peel and chop the carrots. Split the celery and chop. Quarter both onions.
  5. Add the vegetables to the roaster.
  6. Add the Worcestershire sauce to top of beef and all around the sides.
  7. Coat with spices the beef and Vegetables
  8. Smother the roast with butter and add the water to the roaster.
  9. Roast in oven covered for 4-6 hours. Time depends upon how done you like beef
  10. Let rest 10 minutes
  11. Melt the butter add the flour to make a Roux
  12. Add 3 cup of the beef drippings and 2 cup of water and salt. Bring to boil and simmer. Stir till smooth add more liquids if needed
  13. Slice against the grain of the meat.
