Take For white rice dhokla
Prepare 2 cups rice
Get 1 cup split gram skinned
Get 1/2 cup split green gram skinned

Get 1/6 capsicum
Make ready 2-3 chopped green chilli
Take 4-5 spinach leaves

Prepare 8-10 curry leaves
Get 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Make ready 2 tsp mustards seeds
Get 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
Prepare For brown rice dhokla
Prepare 1 cup brown rice
Take 1/2 cup split gram skinned
Get 1/3 cup green gram skinned
Get 1/4 tsp baking soda
Get 1/2 cup carrot puree
Prepare 1/2 cup beetroot puree
Get 1/2 cup spinach puree
Make ready 1/2 cup sour curd
Prepare 2 tsp salt
Instructions to make Mix Dhokla:
For making dhokla have to prepare well in advance like idli. Soak rice, and both dal in water for at least 3-4 hours. After that drain water from mixture and add curd and salt as mentioned above for both types of dhokla. Grind it in a mixture grinder and make thick paste like batter. Add water if necessary. Cover both batter separately and keep it in warm place for 3-4 hours. As we like less sour so added less amount of curd. You can add more too.
For white rice dhokla…. Add baking soda and stir well. take half amount of batter in a separate bowl and add chopped green vegetables. Stir all mixture well. Grease a tray which we used for idli. Pour mixture in each mould. Sprinkle red chilli powder on each dhokla.Pre heat steam cooker place tray and cover. Steam for for 10 minutes or more. To check enter a sharp knife and dhokla isn’t sticking on knife it means it cooked perfectly. Remove dhokla after it get little cool.
Take flat plates and grease. Pour rest of the white rice batter in it. Sprinkle red chilli powder and do same as above.In a fry pan heat oil add mustard, sesame, pieces of green chilli, curry leaves. Add dhokla and mix them well.
For brown rice dhokla. Add baking soda in batter and stir well. Take three purees in separate bowl. Add batter in each bowl and keep forth one plain. Stir each mixture well. Pour in idli mould plate and steam them in steam cooker. We used to eat with raw oil and garlic chutney.
