The ingredients needed to make Pressure Chana Daal:
Take 1 cup chana daal
Make ready 1 tsp zeera
Prepare 4 tbsp oil
Take 1 small onion chopped
Take 2-3 garlic cloves chopped
Take 2 small tomatoes chopped
Take 1/2 tsp ginger paste
Get 1 tsp green chilli chopped
Make ready 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Take 1/2 tsp garam masala
Take 1/2 tsp aam chooor powder (Khataai)
Make ready 1 tsp corriandar powder
Take 1 pinch heeng
Prepare 1 tsp kasoori methi crushed
Make ready 1/4 TSP kalonji
Make ready 2 tbsp capsicum chopped
Make ready 1 tbsp green corriandar chopped
Steps to make Pressure Chana Daal:
Wash chana daal 2-3 times with tap water and soak it for 1 hour.
Now rinse water and put Chana daal in pressure cooker with 2.5-3 cups of water.
Cook it in pressure cooker with some turmeric powder for 7-8 mins or 2-3 whistles. (Pressure cooker system may vary) after 10 min turn off flame, when pressure settle down open the lid and check the daal. It should be soft and tender.
Now in a pan heat oil and fry zeera for some seconds..
Add garlic and fry it till it changes colour to light brown
Add chopped onion and fry it till light brown
Now add chopped tomatoes ginger paste capsicum and green chillies. Mix well
Then add all dry spices, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, corriandar powder, heeng, khataai kalonji And garam masala. Stir it well
Saute the mixture well till tomatoes softened and leaves oil.
Now add crushed kasoori methi and mix.
Now pour Chana daaal along with its water in spice mixture. And mix well
Continue to cook it for 5-7 mins more.
Check its consistency. Thick daal with roti and and runny daal with rice.
Garnish it with corriandar or mix in it. Ready. ๐๐
