The ingredients needed to make Methi Paneer:
  1. Make ready 250 gms fresh paneer (in a pan add one tbsp oil and fry the paneer till light to golden brown and set aside)
  2. Get 1 big opinion finely chopped
  3. Make ready 2 big tomatoes (make purée in a mixer grinder and set aside)
  4. Prepare 2 green chilli slit
  5. Prepare 1 tbs ginger garlic paste
  6. Prepare 1 tbs coriander leaves
  7. Make ready 40 gms / 1 cup tightly packed methi leaves chopped (soak in water with salt to eliminate the bitterness from methi leaves)
  8. Prepare 1/4 th cup curd whisked well
  9. Make ready Half cup water
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  11. Prepare 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  12. Make ready 1 tsp coriander powder
  13. Prepare 2 pinch garam masala
  14. Get To taste Salt
  15. Take 3 tbs oil
  16. Take Whole spices
  17. Prepare 1 bay leaf
  18. Prepare 1 (1 inch) cinnamon stick
  19. Prepare 2 cloves
  20. Make ready 2 green cardamoms
  21. Take 1 black cardamom
Steps to make Methi Paneer:
  1. In a non stick pan heat oil. Add the whole spices and sauté for few seconds till they become fragrant
  2. Add chopped onions and fry till golden brown on low to medium flame
  3. Add finger garlic paste and green chilli. Sauté well for few minutes
  4. Add tomato purée and fry well for few minutes till the raw aroma goes away
  5. Add coriander and fry for 2-3min
  6. Add turmeric, chilli, coriander and garam masala and fry for 3-4min
  7. Add in the chopped methi leaves and cook for 5 min
  8. Turn the flame off and add the whisked curd and stir well
  9. Add 1/2 cup water and mix again
  10. Keep the pan on stove top on low flame. Cover and cook for 10-15 min till you can see oil specks on top
  11. Add paneer cubes and salt and mix well
  12. Cover and cook for 5 min
